I know it has been a while since I have written but we have moved to PA and I have been in the hospital getting treatment for everything that is wrong with me!

My story so far

I am new to this - just today actually so not sure what to write! I contracted lymphedema two years ago. I originally went to the ER for pnuemonia they kept me overnight and because of that I got MRSA. They made an incision in my thigh to drain it - then I was hooked up to a machine called a wound-vac that is supposed to continue to drain. It never worked properly in the hospital - after 5 days I yelled STOP!!! They finally got a wound care nurse to come in and do it properly. By then I guess it was too late because my thigh kept getting bigger and bigger and I didn't know. The surgeon so it was okay - yeah right. I went back to work and my employers decided not to pay me for 7 months.

Finally I was able to go to a doctor (by this time I had no health insurance). By this time I could hardly walk. The doctor had an ultrasound guy come in and she then told me that I have lymphedema. She gave me the name and number of a clinic but they said that will be $400 - well I can't afford that. So I did some research and bought a compression pump - bad idea. I gave myself lymphedema now in the other leg as well - real smart.

After many, many more months I did find a therapy center that I could afford - sort of! But then I got cellulitis - well we all know you can't get wrapped when you have cellulitis. On top of that I have open wounds that are draining. Oh and yes during all this since I didn't get paid - they are foreclosing on my house. How much can one person take?

This is where we are now. We are packing because we have to leave the house. We are moving to Pittsburgh, I have had enough of Florida! We have no place to live there yet, hopefully soon - I have to be picky because I can't walk. A lot of places that I liked have two stories - can't do the steps.
